Our cast stone copes, pier caps and associated spheres provide an attractive and weatherproof finish to the tops of wall heads and are available in a variety of colours and profiles.
Our copes are produced in six basic section types of various widths and in standard lengths of 890mm or in non-standard lengths not exceeding 890mm.
Finished open ends, finished returned ends and 90° external and internal masons mitres are all available. Our pier caps are produced in five designs, each with a standard height and various widths to suit various pier sizes. Two of the designs are specifically used in conjunction with our standard cast stone spheres.
All wall heads should have a D.P.C. located beneath the copes and pier caps. If required, copes can be produced with dowel pockets in the ends or bottoms. Copes and pier caps should have a minimum projection of 40mm from the line of the finished walls below as they are produced with a 12mm diameter half round weather drip (throating) positioned 15mm in from each side.
These copes are supplied as a standard height of 75mm down to 50mm with a single weather direction. The following cope features are available for this cope; closer (infills where the cope ends are not seen), finished open end, finished open end with return on throating, LH/RH 90° External Mitre and LH/RH 90° Internal Mitre.
(When describing handings, the cope is viewed with the weathering running in the away direction.)
