Manufactured to specifications which exceed BS1217:2008 , our cast stone is suitable for a variety of projects from small house extensions and builds, to large scale housing developments and construction projects.
Plean Dry Cast Stone has a surface finish so closely resembling that of natural stone as to present difficulty in distinguishing between the two. In general, dry cast units need no surface treatment after de-moulding other than minimal hand-dressing.
Textured finishes may be achieved by working the surface in several ways immediately after de-moulding. Colour and texture of stones are matched using crushed rock fines and/or sands usually mixed with white cement. Wherever possible colours are matched without the use of pigments. Aggregate selection is critical, in terms of colour, particle shape, correctness and consistency of grading. Supplies of high quality low shrinkage aggregates are readily available locally.
Facing mix designs developed through intensive research, coupled with computer aided batching facilities incorporating precise moisture controllers, ensure consistency throughout the range of blends which permits thorough compaction and yields strong, dense, durable products.
